Please can children bring a water bottle and trainers or plimsoles every day so that we can safely run our mile - the children are getting fitter already and are really enjoying it!

Homework is to be handed in on a Tuesday. Please work with your child on the homework as they will enjoy talking about what they have learnt in class.

The children will also have weekly spellings (15) and tables to learn for a test every Friday.

We will have a weekly tables test so please help your child to learn their tables.

PE Days

Our PE days are a Tuesday and Friday. One session will be with Mr Byford. The children must have a kit for PE and keep it in school. They can wear trainers or plimsolls.

bookmark_border Reading is important!

Please continue to read 5 times a week - this is so important. Lucky dips are handed out on a Friday for those who have their book signed by an adult on 5 occasions in the week.

Don't forget to visit our school library!

This term

Friday, 24th February, 11:06 AM

'Winter Wonderland' is our topic this term, based around the book 'Ice Palace' by Robert Swindell. Much of our learning will link to this topic.

In English we will be writing non-chronological reports, poetry, character descriptions, recounts and information texts. We will be learning how to use apostrophes, commas, inverted commas (speech marks), question marks and exclamation marks.

In Maths we will be adding and subtracting 3 digit numbers using the column method, multiplying and dividing by 3, 4 and 8. We have 5 challenges each day that include problem solving and we also have a problem solving session every Friday

Our Science topic this term is 'Materials' where we will be grouping and sorting materials according to their properties. We will also learn the difference between solids, liquids and gases.

In PSHE we are discussing 'Health and Well-being', covering issues such as making the right food choices, what a balanced diet is, how to prevent the spread of viruses and bacteria as well as discussing our well being and how to keep physically and emotionally safe.
